Another Thursday Thirteen!

Hurray! It's Thursday! Food trucks for lunch!

It's been...a while. Sorry! The running front just hasn't been going well. I had to bag my XTERRA race after suffering through some tonsil thing all week, although I'm not terribly disappointed in how I spent my Saturday. We played at the airport park, which coincidentally we'll be doing it again this Saturday, and then hung out with some BIG dogs.

But let's break things down in numbers, m'kay?!

13 - Food trucks are wonderful, wonderful things. Deliciousness on wheels. If you don't have a food truck nearby be sure to visit one the next time you're in a big city. Your belly will thank you.

12 - GLEE is ridiculous. I'm sorry. I just can't get into it. That main character, Rachel? Can't stand her. I do, however love a good show tune and if this brings a little glitz and glam to the masses...I suppose I can support it. (Just don't make me watch it!)

11 - 'Dance Moms' on the other hand is my guilty TV pleasure. It is a complete reality show train wreck. Those poor kids and their crazy moms make me feel good about myself, but not so much for humanity in general.

10 - The husband will be pleased to read that I have copied down a couple of new recipes to try this weekend. Maple syrup oat scones anyone?

9 - The words 'love you mama' have finally spilled out of Muppet's mouth. OMG, best thing ever.

8 - I just finished Stephen King's "Under the Dome." All 1073 pages. It was delicious literary junk food. I gobbled it up. And now I'll go back to the slightly more intellectual reading of Gore Vidal's "Burr." I am still confident that I'll get through another 10+ books before we ring in 2012.

7 - Counting the minutes until the Michigan State v. Michigan game? Indeed. Though my alma mater will likely need a miracle to win this year it will be awesome to do a little tailgating.

6 - I started volunteering as a dog walker for a local big dog rescue. Poor things are sitting in boarding just hoping for a home. Since I can't adopt them I'll at least show them a little lovin'.

5 - There is a new radio station in town that plays 80s and 90s music. HEAVEN. If Vanilla Ice and Stacy Q can't bring a smile (or at least a good natured groan) then there is no hope for you.

4 - Flu season is upon us...which doesn't seem right when it's 80 degrees outside.

3 - It should not be in the 80s; it's almost OCTOBER. My favorite season is here on the calendar, but not so much on the thermometer.

2 - Red corduroy pants are on the way to my house. Don't judge me. At least I don't own jeggings!

1 - After Thursday comes Friday...and then the weekend! Hope everyone is having fun in blogland!

Ditto on the Glee and Dance Moms. I've seen a couple episodes of Glee, and really enjoy the tunes, but can't seem to get into it for some reason - maybe it is Rachel? she bugs. And Dance Moms is a MESS. So natrually I spent an enitre day watching the marathon of it. Sure did!

And as far as I'm concerned, there is never enough 80s and 90s music on the radio these days. We got a new station here too and let me tell you - Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch is quite simply pure music gold. It's a good vibration, yo.
