So...happy December! You will all be relieved that I did not win a free entry into the Publix GA Marathon...everyone can exhale now...I know that I did! Me thinks the marathon is not for me, but dang it I WILL do another one. Just not in 2012.
December is one of my absolute favorite months. Muppet turned 2 this year, the Husband and I will celebrate EIGHT years of wedded shinanigins, AND I happen to LOVE Christmastime. All of it. The commercialism, the religion, the stark bareness of Advent, the malls in all of their ridiculous glory. Love it all. I also happen to love making tasty treats during the holidays. In fact, I've been looking to see when I can fit in a vacation day to get in all of my cooking/baking/dipping/etc.
I've been participating in mile-a-day challenge with some of my Kick teammates. The premise isn't so much getting in miles, but getting in movement. I'm 12 for 12 so far! This may be the most consistent I was being help accountable by a coach. Winning.
There are a few races on my radar, but I'm playing everything by ear this year. With the needle pokes of a few weeks ago there will be more needle pokes next week...but I have a tentative diagnosis. Hashimoto's. Say it, it's fun to say. It's an autoimmune disorder that attacks the thyroid gland and it may have played a part in some of my heartache this year. So, there is the possibility of medication or whacked out gluten free eating in my future. I'll keep you all posted since it's kind of fascinating thing and all...or not.
Only a couple of weeks until the New Year - get moving!

I am totally the opposite of X-Mas. I don't really get into it, but no biggie. Enjoy your festivities. :)
Hope things get sorted out soon. I was diagnosed with Celiac's disease in February this year and going gluten free hasn't been that hard. So strange though that it is also an auto immune disease which most people don't realize. I'm assuming they have tested for that too. A lot of people that have one of the auto immune diseases have another one too. Enjoy the holiday season and all that it has to offer to keep your spirts high!
Hey there! Sorry to hear about the Hashimoto's - wondering if you've had any news in the last month? Since I had to have my thryoid removed I have what is sometimes called "false" Hashimoto's (basically my body almost thinks it has Hashimoto's because there's no thyroid.
Hope your Christmas was GREAT!
